I LOVE Summer!!

Everyday I think I'm going to find time to update my blog and everyday seems to pass and I don't find the time to do it, so I'm finally making myself update this.  Summer time is just busy, but man do I love it.  I love the long days and wearing shorts and t shirts all the time and not being cold.   So anyhow we have had a little bit excitement the past few weeks.  Hayden got to take his first trip to the emergency room on June 9th.  He fell in our dining room and hit the door and had a cut above his left eye.  I'm posting a picture......hope it doesn't gross anybody out, I just want you to get the full idea.  Luckily they were able to glue it and he didn't have to have stitches.  Now I'm trying to put some stuff on it every day to keep it from scarring as bad.

So aside from the ER visit the last few weeks have been filled with typical fun stuff.  We went to Osceola to celebrate Memorial day.  Hayden had fun running around there and got his first tick.   We have been swimming a couple times and he LOVES the water, but has no fear of it so you have to watch him constantly or he will just go walking right into the water.  My mom, grandpa, brother, and nephews came down on Sunday and Hayden and Dylan had lots of fun together.  They enjoyed splashing in the little plastic pool.

I'm also posting some pictures of Hayden with the dogs.  He loves dogs!!!  If he sees a dog on TV he gets all excited.  His word for dogs is bubbas.  He has now learned that he can go sit on Max's back and waller her around, so when we go outside that's usually the first thing he does and then he is covered in dog hair.  We finally got his swing hung that we got him for his Birthday and he really enjoys swinging in it.  Pretty much if it is an outside activity he likes it.  I think he would stay out all day if we would let him.  Oh and he still is crazy about the vacuum.  He wants to help me push our vacuum all the time and the last time I got it out he decided he needed to sit on it and ride it.  I'm thinking when he gets older vacuuming will definitely be one of his chores.

Busy, Busy, Boy

Well Hayden has been super busy the last few weeks. He is just so much fun right now and we have so much fun watching him learn new stuff. He just goes 90 miles an hour all the time which keeps us busy just keeping up :)

We went to work on some landscaping at the farmhouse in Osceola last weekend and Hayden had so much fun. It is pretty much off the beaten path down a dirt road and the bridge right past the house was washed out so there was absolutely no traffic so Hayden was free to roam all over the place. Hayden got a new wagon for his Birthday so he got to ride around in it and we found a little rake in the garage and he LOVED playing with it - really thought he was 'helping'.

He also was in this hat faze for a while where he always had to have somebodies hat and we got his cowboy hats down from a shelf in his room and he carried them around and played with them for quite a while one evening - so cute :)

We are really enjoying the warmer weather and have been spending quite a lot of time outside when its not raining. You can ask him if he wants to go outside and he will just start heading for the door. We are amazed all the time at what all he understands of what we say. His favorite word right now is ball. Everything that is round is a ball - rocks, apples, tomatoes. He had a fit in Walmart a couple weeks ago wanting the cantaloupe calling it a ball. Then when he saw it in the fridge the next day he again thought it was a ball and wanted it. He has also started saying no no no which is cute now, but I'm sure as he continues that is one of those things we will wish he would stop saying.

Well Hayden will be one year old tomorrow. WOW.....I honestly don't know where the past year has gone. It has been filled with so many memories and experiences. He sure has taught us a lot over the last year. We had his Birthday party on Saturday and it was so much fun. He had a good time playing with all the kids who were here - basically he just followed them around I think :) He also had a good time eating/playing in his cake. He started off slow and timid, but then realized we weren't going to stop him and he got more into it. He got lots of new things to play with and is enjoying all of them. We got him a toy vacuum and if that thing actually worked I would not have to vacuum at all. He has taken that thing all over the house and just loves pushing it everywhere.

I'm also going to post a few pictures from an Easter Egg hunt last week with our MOPS group. He just wanted to pick up two eggs and carry them around. It was cute. Yesterday was Easter and Hayden and Jeff were both dressed up looking good and I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of them. I guess I was just in too big of a hurry to get to Easter lunch at my grandpa's house.

Catching up

Well I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with this blog the last month. It has been busy and once I got a little behind I just put off doing it. So I'll try to get you caught up with our adventures. Hayden is officially walking and is just going everywhere. He really started taking off about two weeks ago and just gets better and faster all the time. He pretty much has given up crawling all together.

Early on this month (March 5th to be exact) we got together with my grandma, cousins, and two of my aunts for my aunt Carrie's Birthday. I'm posting a picture of all of us, except for little cousin Jackson - who was sleeping in his stroller. We had such a nice time at the Sandstone Gardens in Joplin.

Then the next week (March 12th -14th) we took a trip to San Antonio with Jeff's family (Glen, Sharon, Rick, Lisa, Shelby, and Tyler) to watch the George Strait roping. The weather wasn't all that warm and Hayden didn't much like sitting in the bleachers so we didn't get to see much of the roping, but still had fun. Hayden got to experience his first airplane ride and he didn't mind it one bit. I'm posting a couple pics of the trip. One he is beside one of the trucks they give away to the winner and one where he is taking a look at the big Percheron horses they had there.

Other than that we have been going outside on the nice warm days we have had. I've got some pics of Hayden with the dogs. He just loves dogs and can be easily entertained by watching them run around. We went to MiMi Patty's and PaPa Dennie's last week and he got to help MiMi feed calves. I wish I would have got a picture of that, but didn't have my camera handy. I'm sure we will go back to feed them again soon. I did however get a picture of him playing with their dog Maggie. I think his next word might be puppy :)

Oh and something else pretty non eventful happened last month, I almost forgot to mention it...........I turned 30. I don't feel 30 so I guess thats all that matters :)

February Fun

Well thought I better give an update on what we have been doing. Hayden has had had a cold and an ear infection so that kept us from doing anything for a while. Last weekend we went to Kansas City for two nights and out car was so full of stuff it looked like we were moving. We had a good time and Hayden got to go visit his Great Grandma Betty. He loved playing with her cane and I was so afraid he was going to wack her across the nose with it. Then we also got to see one of my old college roomates Alicia and her little girl Nichole. Hayden liked her. You will notice in the picture he is trying to hold her hand :)

The really exciting news is Friday night before we left for Kansas City Hayden took his first steps on his own. He let go of the chair and walked about 4 steps right into mommy's arms. He has done it a little bit more off and on the last few days, but tonight he really started doing it. At one time tonight he probably took 8 steps at one time. If he goes slow he can walk good, but usually he takes two steps then gets in a hurry and falls then crawls. Not sure if we are ready for him to walk, but is sure has been fun watching him learn.

It won't be long

It won't be long before Hayden is walking. He loves to push his walk behind toys and walk holding onto your fingers. I think he would walk holding onto you all day if you would let him. He is pretty sly about getting you to walk with him. He finds a way to get your fingers and won't let go and encourages you to get up and go for a walk. I'm going to try and attach a little video of him pushing one of his walk behind toys down the hall. He really gets it going fast.

Fun in the Snow

Well one week ago Hayden and I went outside to enjoy the nice sunny spring like day and today we went outside to enjoy the snow.....Missouri weather ya just never know. Anyhow this was Hayden's first time to play in the snow. He had been going to the window and looking out at it a lot and when we got outside he just looked around like what is all this and then he started crawling in it like no big deal.
